At Better Investing Academy, our journey began just like yours. Founders Derrick, Eu Jin, and Daniel started as students at VI College, facing the same challenges aspiring investors encounter. With expertise in options strategies, value investing, and portfolio management, they saw the need for guidance and support in the investing world.
During the 2022 market crash, they witnessed investors struggle with losses due to poor portfolio management and blind stock tips. Determined to make a difference, they founded Better Investing Academy to educate and empower investors.
Their mission is simple: help investors build balanced portfolios, optimize investments, and navigate market downturns confidently. Through a vibrant community, coaching sessions, and in-depth research, they’ve introduced strategies delivering exceptional returns—30%, 80%, and even 100% on portfolios.

Derrick Lau
Derrick Lau is a seasoned stock investor and options expert with over a decade of experience, renowned for his innovative approach to investment education. As a former educator at VI College, he developed advanced courses in value investing and options strategies.
Now a fund manager at BIA, Derrick oversees corporate portfolios while fostering a supportive investor community. His mission is to empower individuals to achieve their financial goals through expert guidance and proven strategies.
Daniel Lim
Daniel Lim is a seasoned stock investor with over a decade of expertise in value and growth stocks. Known for his ability to simplify complex financial concepts, he has trained over 1,500 students through 200+ hours of impactful coaching sessions.As a former Speaker and Trainer at VI College, Daniel delivered value and growth investing courses to English and Malay audiences, earning recognition as a trusted educator.
Currently, Daniel leads public coaching sessions and actively supports the BIA stock community, empowering retail investors with the skills and insights needed to navigate the stock market successfully.
Eu Jin
Eu Jin, Head of Operations at Better Investing Academy, brings expertise in optimizing operations and scaling processes. With experience in hospitality, banking, and financial education, he has driven efficiency, customer satisfaction, and community engagement. At BIA, Eu Jin focuses on business growth and enhancing member experiences to fulfil the academy's mission of excellence and sustainability.
